Today we welcome Pastor Vic Varkonyi to bring our morning message.  Pastor Vic service as the “Connection Pastor “ at Praise Covenant Church and, if we unite our ministries with Praise, will also serve part time as a co-pastor here at the Harvard campus along with Pastor Wayne.  Pastor Vic is married to Sherri and they have a son named Drew who is a senior at Stadium High School.

Tonight Praise Covenant Church is having an informational meeting discussion the proposal to unite their ministries with ours at which Pastor Wayne will be sharing.   Pastors Greg Chantler and Vic Varkonyi and Wayne will be responding to questions.   Pray for this important meeting. 

Women’s Ministry News and Information

·        Yes, we have cards!  We’ve got anniversary cards, birthday cards, sick cards (actually get well cards), all kinds of cards.  If you would like to encourage or bless someone with a card contact Diane Boisture and she will connect you with the cards.

·        Cheryl Clark is in charge of our women’s bulletin board.   Talk to her if you would like to put something on the calendar.   Let us know if you are doing something on which some other women can join you.

Building Maintenance – Property Deacon Joe Nollan would like to establish one regular night a month for people to do building maintenance and extra cleaning.  He is going to have a brief meeting after church

TODAY to attempt to find out what night will work best for people.  If you have any preferences talk to Joe or call the church office and leave him a message..

Janitorial Volunteers – Thanks to those who have taken on various janitorial responsibilities.  Joe Nollan is in the process of recruiting additional help and finding out if those who are currently doing jobs will continue.   Here is needs to be done on a weekly basis and who is currently doing it.

Early Morning Prayer Times Continue at 6:00 AM, Tuesday and Thursday.  If uniting our ministry is supposed to happen, it needs to be bathed in prayer.  These prayer times are devoted to seeking the Lord for His future here at Harvard.

Principles Class – This class is for anyone new to our church who would like to learn more about who we are and what we value.  The class meets for 7 weeks on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 PM starting Monday, April 7 meeting at the Pastor’s home, 6823 South G Street.  Call the office if you need childcare.

ESL Classes – We are hosting ESL classes in cooperation with Harvard Elementary and Pierce College on Monday –Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:15 PM starting April 7.   They will be using the fellowship hall and nursery.  We are free to use the rest of the building for any other activities.    We will be praying about ways to further interact with and serve these folks in the name of Jesus. 

Rental House Renovation Update

·        Lou and Dianna are tearing into the bathroom of the smaller house.

·        Talk to Terry if you would be available to help out in some way.

Interested in Drama – After church next Sunday, April 6, there will be a short meeting with Katre M. of anyone interested in drama to be used in our worship services.  Talk to Katre if interested.

Opportunities to Interact with Praise

Praise Covenant Women’s Retreat – The women’s ministry of Praise Covenant would like to invite our women to join them on a retreat April 18-20.  Brochures for this can be found on the Bulletin table. 

Conference Annual Meeting Volunteer Opportunities – Praise Covenant is hosting the Annual Meeting this year.  Since we are considering joining with Praise, this is a great opportunity to come along side our brothers and sisters there as they take on all that is involved with hosting this event.   In coming weeks we will have specific things that we can sign up for.   Let us grow in love between our two churches as we consider becoming one.

Pulpit Exposure

·        Today March 30, Pastor Vic Varkonyi will be preaching at Harvard

·        Sunday, April 13 Pastor Greg and Pastor Wayne will switch pulpits with Pastor Wayne preaching at both services at Praise and Pastor Greg preaching here.

Praise Sunday, April 27

On Sunday, April 27, there will be NO SERVICE HERE AT HARVARD.  That Sunday we are encouraging the Harvard community to go to Praise Covenant Church to experience what life is like over there.  They have two services, one at 8:45 and one at 11:00.  We are recommending that we attend the 11:00 service together.  If you would like to car pool together we will be leaving the parking lot at Harvard at 10:15 AM that Sunday.

Praise’s Family Night - Any Wednesday night you can check out Praise’s family night starting with dinner at 5:45 and activities for all ages at 6:45 to 8:15.
